Steven J. Scandaliato is principal and managing director at SDG. He has more than 37 years’ experience in fire protection engineering, contracting, design and project management, covering all types of fire protection and life safety systems. He serves as a member of several National Fire Protection Association committees, as well as a number of technical committees (the Technical Advisory Committee for the American Fire Sprinkler Association and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers). He also is a contributing author to the NFPA/SFPE publication, “A Designers Guide to Automatic Sprinkler Systems.”

SDG Awarded New COE Project; NAS, Bahrain

SDG, LLC has been awarded the contract for fire suppression system engineering and design for a multi-building project in Bahrain.  Working with ProtectU of Oman, SDG will provide estimating and design deliverables for several new and existing buildings.  “This is a timely project for us”, said Steven Scandaliato.  “As construction in the United States continues to be sluggish, projects like this give us the chance to extend our reach for offering services around the world.”  This project will include several retrofit systems for existing buildings previously not protected and provide new systems for two new multi-story buildings.  Deliverables include pre-bid designs and design/build construction documents including hydraulic and seismic calculations.

FSSA – The Liability for the NICET Designer

Scandaliato to speak at The Fire Suppression Systems Associations (FSSA) 2012 Annual Forum at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage, California on February 26, 2012. Steven will be speaking on “The Liability for the NICET Designer”. His presentation will present some compelling information on how NICET technicians unnecessarily take the responsibility/liability that more properly and appropriately should be that of the professional engineer. The FSSA is an organization of manufacturers, suppliers, and designer-installers, dedicated to providing a higher level of fire protection. FSSA members are specialists in protecting high value special hazard areas from fire.

International Building Code (IBC) and Fire Sprinklers Webinar
